Buying a home
House-hunting in Tromsø?
Buying, step by step
It pays to be well prepared.
- 01
Where do you want to live?
We know the districts well. Is it important to be close to town or countryside, are there children starting school, do you want to walk to the shop or take the bus to work?
- 02
Financing
A financing certificate is the bank's confirmation of how much you can borrow — then you're ready to bid. Our financing partner is Handelsbanken.
- 03
Viewing
Read the prospectus before the viewing and take your time. Buyers have a duty to inspect — ask us what to look out for.
- 04
The bidding round
Have your financing ready and know how a bidding round works. It can move fast, with many different buyers.
- 05
Hooray — your bid was accepted
Once the seller accepts, the agreement is binding. Then there's the contract meeting, signing and handover.
- 06
Selling your current home?
Finances, timing and your local market decide the order of a home swap. Ask for advice early.
Buyer's insurance package
Fully insured for the whole first year
Gjensidige offers complete buyer packages for houses, apartments and cabins. All include buyer's insurance and contents insurance — for houses and cabins also building insurance. Ask your agent.
